Starting with just a dream, Eladio and Margarita Valencia arrived in San Luis, Mexico. The dream they had was to reach out to children and their families in the poorest of the poor places. San Luis Río Colorado Mexico is their home, just a stone's throw from Yuma Arizona.

Star of Hope saw their efforts and passion as a perfect fit for a partnership. At the same time, other people saw the same thing and wanted to be a part. Gradually over the past year work teams and donations have made the work more effective.

Today they provide meals for more than 100 children and provide extra educational help for the children needing a helping hand. They have added a sewing class. All this while holding church services and meeting spiritual needs in the community.
