We continue to distribute support packages to vulnerable sponsor children in our project countries. Thanks to the generous gifts of the sponsors and donors, we were recently able to make a new food distribution in Ghana.
The Ghanaian government's closure of schools to curb the spread of the coronavirus has left many parents responsible for combining their daily activities with constantly caring for their children. It is a big challenge for many families.
The closure of the schools also means that the children, in addition to missing their education, also do not receive breakfast and lunch they normally receive at our schools. This is super important!
Most of the parents in these villages can barely give three meals a day to their children, it is even harder to give them a varied diet. So the meals that are normally served in the schools are an important part of the work for both the children and the parents. So to help the families in these difficult times, we recently conducted a new food distribution.
Charity, the country director says:
"The situation is difficult for many. We try to engage the children through our homeschooling program. It's going well, but many parents are worried that their children will go hungry and no one knows what the future holds. Many people wonder when the schools will start again. The food packages we handed out alleviate hunger and at the same time give hope for the future. Many thanks to everyone who makes these dividends possible in these difficult times. I hope the attached pictures will show the appreciation and gratitude that everyone feels. Hopefully, the kids can return to the classrooms soon. Many thanks to all and God bless you!"
