Help is soon on the road for the earthquake victims in Haiti but will the bandits let them pass?
Dear Friends,
Port-au-Prince has become in recent months the kidnapping capital of the world.
We hope that the armed bandits who loot, rob, kill, and kidnap people every day will let the convoy of trucks pass that will transport the 700 food kits to rescue 700 affected families in the south, more precisely in Cavaillon.
We are ready to make the first intervention to come to the aid of the victims of the earthquake this Saturday which will be September 11th. Cards giving victims access to receive food aid are ready to be distributed to victim’s door to door. The delivery of the recipient cards will begin Thursday the 8th to Friday the 9th. It is the officials of two local organizations who will identify the real victims who urgently need assistance and who will receive the food aid access card by Star of Hope. This card will entitle them to a relief package.
The 700 food kits are also now ready to be transported from Port-au-Prince to Cavaillon on Friday, September 10th in 3 trucks. Normally, it's a 4-hour journey. These kits were prepared and packaged by a group of 12 young people. This work took them 3 days to make the 700 kits.
We will meet the authorities and leaders again today to give them the access cards and a form to register the victims and at the same time plan securing and distributing the food kits to the victims for Saturday, September 11th from 8 am on the Cavaillon football field.
I ask you to pray that everything goes well since Haiti has become a nation in total bankruptcy where violence and banditry make the headlines. All those actions put Haiti on the brink of a seemingly bottomless chasm with nothing but chaos.
