As we wait for the Christmas reports to be finalized, here is a great story to start 2022!
The new water collecting system and reservoir in Bois Negresse, Haiti is complete and storing water. Star of Hope Haiti and the local people at the end of the year and was commissioned very recently. The capacity is as much as 75 cubic meters and will provide water to the families in the scattered village and the surrounding area.
Most people cannot afford to dig a water well, therefore this well will be a great help during the dry season when there is often an acute water shortage in Bois Negresse, in the mountains south of the capital.
Ensuring that children have access to clean drinking water is an important part of our work in all projects in Haiti. All projects and sponsor children have access to water, but in Bois Negresse it was limited to a small water tank inside the school. It is perfect for school, but the area is very dry and the villagers have to go far to get clean drinking water.
Thanks to all the generous support and valuable gifts, we were able to build the new water reservoir and collection system next to the school. It is done, thank you.
This water station is very much appreciated and is a life enhancer for the whole community.
Thank you for your fantastic support! It means a lot to the children and families of Bois Negresse.
