Impact and Reach

Donations help offset the cost of school fees. Most children pay 1130 gdes (Haitian currency) every year for tuition. There are 598 children receiving a preschool, primary, and school education. 80% of students passed their final exam last year and 60% of graduating class passed the official exam to get a certificate to secondary level.

Other projects from the past included: school construction and church construction in 1998, a pig project in 1999-200, children education from 1998 until present, providing seed, fertilizer, tools, tins, and food distribution in 2004 and 2009, seed tools, chicken, and goats gifts distribution in 2009, and a teacher training program in 2000, 2004, and 2007.

More help is still needed in this area. Expanding donor contributions could help pay for classroom improvement such as better classroom lighting and building 3 new preschool classrooms is a must. Better benches, chairs, and desks are also helpful. Better teacher salaries, school feeding improvement, better child healthcare, sports for the school, books for students, more school uniforms, additional maintenance to buildings, more administration, and a drinking water project and an additional 6 classrooms could also be used.
