Last week Star of Hope Romania arranged a tour for 3 mothers and 5 children, they are some of the ones who stay at our shelter at our Star of Center in Iasi. They are refugees from Mikolaev and Odesa in Ukraine. The grandmother and the grandfather we have staying with us remained at the Center to rest because they have problems with their legs and health in general. One of the mothers and her boy had spent 2 nights in the hospital in Iasi to get emergency help for a severe allergy condition. She came back to our shelter today but has to get more treatment so she will go back next Monday for control.
The children were so happy that they could be outside for the very first time since escaping the war zone and outside they did not hear the alarms ringing and the bombs falling. Many still linger in a trauma state. Soon they were jumping and playing in the park. After a long walk in the city together with my colleague Dana, we invited them to the Palace Mall and offered lunch and ice cream!
So thankful to God we are because our city is still calm and peaceful! We pray for the peace in Ukraine and may God protect Romania, too! Thank you, dear friends, for supporting us to show love and care for the children of Ukraine! God bless you!
