Dear Star of Hope supporter,
I couldn't wait to settle back home in Portland so that there would be a fresh report from the mission field. Star of Hope is impacting lives, all over the globe, but especially in Romania.
Director Aura Vatamanuic, arranged many opportunities in our 10 day May visit to interact with various teams, projects, villages, families, and children. It was no coincidence that our visit fell upon International Family Day. Pastors Ed and Cheryl Rebman conducted many exchanges regarding family health and healthy relationships. Their 49 years of marriage and active lifestyle are a testimony of living in the goodness and favor of God.

Many families received the messages of hope and encouragement and gave accolades to the programs of Star of Hope. The SOH staff has provided learning skills that are life-changing for both mothers, fathers, siblings, and children. We visited the after-school program in Dimencheni, where children have learned how to wash their hands, with the assistance of the newly built well. We observed the greenhouse filled with bountiful produce in the community of Murgeni. The Dorohoi project just moved into their newly remodeled location. The surroundings in the Botosani projects are filled with color, activities, clean play areas, hot meals, and much LOVE.
Some of the children served, changing nations!
The stellar Iasi project continues to search communities for children who could benefit from their professional teams in speech, physical and behavioral skills. We observed a 4 1/2 years old little girl who had never learned to walk. After coming to SOH/Iasi Center, she was walking, playing, smiling and interacting after only 6 months of therapy. (She is the one in the pink dress)
Our team gives witness to the outstanding progress and work in Romanian. Please consider joining me as we contribute to the continuance of their excellence and outreach to additional families.
We can't do this work without YOU! Thank you for helping change the world, one child, one family at a time.
Always grateful to God for His provision,
Kay E. Metsger RN, BSN - Board of Directors, Star of Hope International - Portland, Oregon
