During its 33 years on the ground in Romania, Star of Hope, with help from people like you, has changed the lives of children with disabilities.
It has been challenging work and a fight at times, but there are many who have fought together. No words of praise are enough for the Romanian staff who dedicated their lives to these children! With each passing year, they have acquired more knowledge and experience. And now, with hundreds of thousands of refugees crossing the border, their skills and compassion are just what the refugees need.
When the Romanian authorities started asking for people who could help refugee children with disabilities, our staff was already standing at the border and receiving needy families.
The help you give your fellow human beings can leave rings on the water decades later.
That both, the state, and UNICEF want to cooperate with Star of Hope Romania now is not surprising at all.
Those of us who have never had to run away from our homes can never understand how it feels but we understand that running away becomes even more difficult for children with disabilities.
Right now, we are in the right place at the right time, ready to welcome these children and guide their families into a new existence. Thousands have received help - but unfortunately, the needs are even greater than before.
With different actions and decisions by Russia, more men women, and children, are fleeing to get out of the fake draft and the war built on deception and lies.
No matter the work we do now that should be the highlight, helping children!.
