Impact and Reach
Donations help offset the cost of school fees. Most children pay 1,160 gdes (Haitian currency) ever year. It would be 4 times higher without financial contributions from donors. There are 374 children enrolled in the preschool. Overall, 350 children receive primary school education. 70% of students passed their final exam last year and 50% of graduating class passed the official exam.
Other projects from the past included: a tool bank in 1999, fertilizer and seed in 2003, children education support starting in 1998, humanitarian food distribution in 2008, tins distribution in 2008, goats, chicken, tools and seed gifts in 2009, and teacher training in 2000, 2004, and 2007.
More help is still needed in this area. Expanding donor contributions could help pay for classroom improvement and lighting. Additionally, a new school building, fence, and playground could also be an asset. Better teacher salaries, school feeding improvement, better child healthcare, sports for the school, books for students, more school uniforms, additional maintenance to buildings, more administration, and agriculture supplies, a bank project and health center could also be used.
