Star of Hope - Paillant, Haiti

Impact and Reach

Donations help offset the cost of school fees. Most children pay 825 gdes (Haitian currency) ever year. It would be 4 times higher without financial contributions from donors. There are 446 receive primary school education. 72.5% of students passed their final exam last year and 72.5% of graduating class passed the official exam to get a certificate to secondary level.

Other projects from the past included: chicken, goat, seed and tool gifts in 2009, school construction in 1992, humanitarian food distribution in 2004, 2008, school building in 1992, and a building a tools bank in 1998.

More help is still needed in this area. Expanding donor contributions could help pay for classroom improvement such as better benches, chairs, tables, and desks. Additionally, a new preschool, fence, and playground could also be an asset. Better teacher salaries, school feeding improvement, better child healthcare, sports for the school, books for students, more school uniforms, additional maintenance to buildings, more administration, and a healthcare center and a drinking water project could be used as well.
