As a "Lunch Buddy" you will be helping to treat school lunch to children in our projects around the world - that way you will help to ensure they get the food and nutrition they need while in school. Your gift will go to purchasing food for all children in our schools. That's what "Lunch Buddy" means, that together we can secure access to food for these children into the future.
EDUCATION IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT LUNCH
For these children, schooling would be impossible without lunch, mainly because it gives the children energy to concentrate and learn. Also it gives the parents one less stomach to feed. Without lunch at school, many of the children would be forced to work at home or actually scavenge for food instead.
Star of Hope schools, serve the important school lunch every day, this gives the family breadwinners a tremendous assistance in the fight to keep kids satisfied and healthy while they can continue their quest to be a income earner; growing food, building houses and roads or whatever labor is available. The lunch also serves as an important motivation for some parents to continue sending their children to school instead of having to send them out to work.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT, LITERALLY
Worldwide 19,000 children die daily from hunger and diseases that could easily have been prevented if they had access to basic health care, affordable medicines and clean water and nutritious food. That's more than 13 every minute! Let's fix part of that!
