Transition or Faith Over Fear: Thank You and a Call to Hope for 2026
As we approach the final days of 2025, it’s impossible to ignore the “elephant in the room.” We are living through a period of profound transition.

“With all the headlines about transition, inflation, and market shifts, many analysts are suggesting that donor pessimism is hitting an all-time high—leaving me to wonder: How are you feeling in the midst of it all? While these reports suggest help is becoming more scarce, I see a different story being written through your faithfulness.”

You see, when I read these statistics, I am reminded of 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” I don’t feel discouraged; I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I am grateful because Star of Hope is supported by a family of believers and friends who look past the headlines to the Heavens.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Supporters

Before looking forward, I must look back and say thank you. For the last few years, we have been on a global economic rollercoaster, yet you—our loyal donors—have been the hands and feet of Jesus. You have come through every single time. Because of your faithfulness, children have been fed, and families have found hope when the world offered none.

We are reminded of the promise in Hebrews 6:10:

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

The Urgent Call of 2025

Even with your steadfast support, the reality of the global economy hits our mission hard. We are currently facing two critical fronts:

  • The Hunger Crisis in Haiti: Food prices in Haiti have skyrocketed, doubling more than three times in the last decade. Our school lunch program—often the only hot meal a child receives—is more vital, and more expensive, than ever.

  • The Conflict in Ukraine: Our history in Ukraine goes back to 1986, following the Chernobyl disaster. Because of those deep roots, we have been at the border since day one of the current conflict. We feel a divine compulsion to help our friends there, but the sustained effort has significantly emptied our coffers.

Stewardship in a Crowded World

The world of giving has changed. In 1970, there were 700,000 nonprofits; today, there are over 1.5 million, plus countless crowdfunding sites. With so many voices calling out, how do you discern where to plant your seed?

We believe in being “faithful over little” so that we may be “faithful over much.” At Star of Hope, we prioritize:

  1. Transparency: You deserve timely, honest reporting on how your gift is changing lives.

  2. Accessibility: If you call our office, you get a real person. If you want to speak to me, the CEO, I am available to you.

Our Personal Promise

My wife and I tithe as a matter of faith. Even when things get tight, and we have to cut back on non-essentials, we never waver. We believe that we are blessed to be a blessing.

I know that at times all feels uncertain. With transitions abound, it is happening everywhere. But I also know that a year-end gift to Star of Hope will have a profound effect on a child of war or a hungry student in Haiti. As we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, let us be the light in their darkness.

I appeal to you for your year-end gift today.

May God bless you and keep you,
