During the winter relief, we distributed firewood to vulnerable families in both countries. Firewood was also delivered to our resource centers for vulnerable Roma communities in Romania. Thanks to this fuel, families have been able to sleep soundly in warm beds at night. Meanwhile, the centers have been able to stay open all winter long, serving hot meals and providing homework support.
Many homes are substandard and drafty, making the firewood incredibly welcome.
Thanks to all the generous donations, we were also able to distribute winter clothing and gift cards to vulnerable families in Latvia. These gift cards are exchanged for food at local grocery stores.
This aid reached, among others, the Latvian families we visited before the turn of the year.
