Plains to the Provinces: Our Impact in Romania
“What happens when Kansas kindness meets Romanian resilience? Our 2025 Impact in Romania Report from the ‘Star of Hope’ center is in, and the results are life-changing. From ‘Weeks of Good Deeds’ to new leadership training, your support is harvesting hope across the globe.”
Impact in Romania

Here is a “Impact in Romania” report, from the Heart of Kansas to the Hills of Romania: A Year of Transformation

In the quiet stretches of Central Kansas, we know the value of a solid foundation. Whether it’s preparing the soil for a spring planting or teaching our children the importance of a handshake and a prayer, our community is built on values that last.

Halfway across the world, in the village of Valea Seacă, Romania, those same values are taking root.

We are proud to share the 2025 Impact Report from our partners at the “Star of Hope” center. Thanks to your continued support, 40 children spent the last year on a life-changing mission called The Greatest Journey. This isn’t just an after-school program; it is a spiritual and moral compass for the next generation.

Lessons That Translate in Any Language

While the landscape of Romania might look different than the plains of Kansas, the challenges children face are universal. Throughout 2025, students ranging from 1st to 8th grade walked through a 12-month curriculum designed to build character, resilience, and faith.

The year began with a simple but profound truth: “The Great Creator.” In January, children learned that their lives have intrinsic value and purpose. By the time the sunflowers were blooming in July, the focus shifted to “Helping Others,” where students identified practical ways to serve their own families and neighbors—a concept of “neighbor helping neighbor” that we hold dear right here at home.

Highlights of the year included:

  • Conflict Resolution: Middle schoolers engaged in deep reflections on forgiveness and responsibility, leading to more harmonious relationships and fewer playground conflicts.

  • Building Confidence: Using the story of David and Goliath, students learned to face their fears with courage and trust.

  • Community Spirit: The year culminated in a “Week of Good Deeds,” where the children put their faith into action, proving that you are never too young to make a difference.

Leadership from the Ground Up

We believe in empowering local leaders. This year, the program coordinators in Romania went above and beyond by completing advanced leadership certification inspired by the teachings of Dr. John C. Maxwell.

By sharpening their skills in group facilitation and transformational leadership, these mentors aren’t just teaching lessons; they are raising the bar for the entire community. They are equipped to handle the “tough questions” and provide the accountability these children need to grow into strong, principled adults.

Looking Ahead: Growing the Harvest

The success of 2025 has cleared the way for an even more ambitious 2026. Because of the impact seen in the children, the program is expanding to include:

  • Support Groups for Mothers: Focusing on family values and personal growth.

  • Teen Leadership Initiatives: Helping high schoolers find their purpose and take on responsibility.

A Note of Gratitude

When you give to this ministry, you aren’t just sending funds overseas; you are exporting hope. You are helping a child in a small Romanian village realize that they are loved by a Great Creator and supported by a community of friends in Central Kansas who believe in their future.

As we look toward the 2026 season, we invite you to keep these 40 children and their mentors in your prayers. Together, we are building a bridge of faith that spans oceans.
