Flood Crisis in Romania – Help the Roma Children today
A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Romania as severe flooding has devastated the Roma community in Murgeni.
As many as 27 villages and towns are under water after the Danube burst its banks due to heavy seasonal flooding. Star of Hope is urgently responding to the situation, coordinating relief efforts, and appealing for public support.
What has happened?
Extreme weather has triggered widespread flooding across Central Europe, leaving thousands homeless in Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania. Floodwaters have inundated homes and businesses, causing extensive damage and forcing mass evacuations. Many regions have declared states of natural disaster, and widespread power outages have compounded the crisis.

Our local coordinator, Murui Brigadier, is issuing a desperate plea for assistance: “People are panicking, many are trapped in their homes without electricity or drinking water. The destruction is widespread, and the children are hungry. We desperately need your help!”
