Help Pastor Ben Repair God's Church"Pagpalain Ka Nang Dios."Those words, "God Bless You," are heard everywhere you go in the Philippines. In 2004 the area around Infanta, Quezon was ravaged by four successive typhoons. Mudlides devastated the area in which thousands died and over 100,000 lost their homes. Because of the generous donations received, Star of Hope has built many homes and restored an entire villate. Pastor Ben, whose Christian Faith Church is 20 minutes from the Star of Hope village, Ilog, was instrumental in making our disaster relief successful. He managed the building of relief housing and continues to oversee the construction of an addition to the school. since there is no church in Ilog, he must drive people from the village to the church each Sunday. He also works to offer a strong youth ministry meeting every Sunday evening. Because he is the only minister in the church, this creates a hardhship for him but none-the-less he is committed to seeing it through. In order to promote his mission of spreading the Word of Jesus Christ in Ilog, Pastor Ben has started a Bible study and leads weekly prayer meetings at the school. He has also organized a cooperative in the village to help foster a sense of community responsibility as well as good stewardship of their surroundings. People always have needs. Pastor Ben always puts others needs before his own. But now, God's church is in need of repair and the responsibility falls on Pastor Ben. Two wooden windows are rotting and falling apart. The roof needs repairs and the floors need replaced. Pastor Ben would never ask for himself but there is also a need for the entire church to be repainted. The need is great and should be addressed soon, before the it is irreparable. It would be a wonderful encouragemenet for Pastor Ben and his ministry to know there are people who appreciate the work he is doing and are willing to help when he has a need. Pastor Ben went home to the Lord yet the work lives on, contact Star of Hope for more information.
