Erik Gunnar Eriksson Building

The new school building at our large school in Taytay, Philippines, will soon be completed. It is named after the Star of Hope's outstanding founder, Erik Gunnar Eriksson. He also co-founded the local organization Star of Hope Philippines in the '80s.

The new building will primarily house senior high school, ie grades 11 and 12, and is expected to be put into operation when the coming academic year 2021-22 starts.

The teachers are ready to get started, but so far it is distance learning that applies until further notice during the pandemic. In addition, all children up to the age of 18 and adults over the age of 60 must stay indoors from Wednesday until the last of March according to the latest pandemic restrictions. It is very difficult for all our godchildren, as they live so crowded and many normally use streets and squares as their living room and playground.

Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in developing this school in the city slums. It gives children the opportunity to go from preschool all the way up to the last year of high school at one and the same school. It gives children and their families security for the future.
