Last Saturday there was an exam party for the graduating classes at our schools in Mikindani, Kenya. This graduation (delayed) was for the children in the lower grades who received their grades and diplomas for the greatly delayed school year 2020.
It was happy children and proud parents who sang and danced last Saturday in the packed Word of Life Faith Church. The festivities ended with lunch and cake to everyone's great joy.
The students in the eighth grade recently took the primary school exam and all students who completed the national tests qualified for high school.
It has been a school year with many challenges and pandemic restrictions. Approximately 1,500 children and young people have received their education at some of our schools in Kenya. They have been given two meals each school day and have access to clean drinking water and toilets.
