Impact and Reach
Donations help offset the cost of school fees. Most children pay 6,750 gdes (Haitian currency) every year for tuition. Without donor contributions, it would be about 4 times that amount. There are 325 children receiving a preschool and primary school education. 76% of students passed their final exam last year and 92% of graduating class passed the official exam to get a certificate to secondary level.
Other projects from the past included: child education from 1998 until present, chicken and goat gifts distribution in 2009, teacher training program in 2000, 2004, and 2007, building a school library in 2003, a humanitarian program in 2004-2008, seed and tools bank project in 2004-2008, and a tin project in 2008.
More help is still needed in this area. Expanding donor contributions could help pay for classroom improvement such as better benches, chairs, tables, and desks. Additionally, a new preschool, fence, and playground could also be an asset. Better teacher salaries, school feeding improvement, better child healthcare, sports for the school, books for students, more school uniforms, additional maintenance to buildings, more administration, and bakery and motor machine to grow corn could be used as well.
